FOUR WORLDS

The Game of Expert Dialogue is an Art of exchange and cooperation. It requires that each player commits to benevolence, clarity, active listening and respect of freedom of speech.

The players only talk about themselves and their way of experiencing others. They have no other opponent then themselves.

Each player defines a personal objective (the quest)
and starts a journey through four worlds (four sets of cards).

Earth : Where one clarifies their objective, defines what motivates it (What do you want?).

Water : Where one finds the assets, qualities and means to reach it (What are your assets?).
Fire : Where one identifies the obstacles, the fears to overcome (What are your limitations?).
Air : Where one defines what effort, ritual or action they are ready to take (What's the price?).

Each player throws the dice. The lower number starts.

He picks up a card and reads it out loud. When he feels ready, he turns the timer and has three minutes to express whatever he feels appropriate. He answers the question on the card as well as questions asked by other players or the Referee. When the time has elapsed, the player is no longer allowed to speak. He becomes a spectator and listens to the feedbacks.
In turn, each other player is invited (in approximately 1 mn) to give his impressions or advices, make comments. He will give a chip of a chosen color according to the level of understanding he has experienced.

White - wasn't convinced by the answer
Orange - would need more clarifications
Black – echoes with my concerns

The player listens, he needs not to justify or answer. He can experience what the distance is between what he has said, or thought he said, and what other players have heard or thought they have heard.

When the turn is over, the referee sums up the various comments, replacing them in their context. He then makes his own comment and gives a chip.

The next player receives the timer and picks up a card.

The worlds are to be visited in their initial order : Earth, Water, Fire, Air. A player is free to move to the next world whenever he feels appropriate. He might stay in the same world if he feels he (or the other players) needs more clarification.

When the four worlds have been visited by the player, each player decides what step they will take towards their initial goal, or what it has become during the course of the dialogue.

The game is best played with a maximum of four players and the referee

The duration of the game is around 3 to 4 hours. It can take place at home, in a café, between friends. Participants can also join scheduled games organized by confirmed facilitators.
